Slappy -  in theory that may be the case, assuming the DI vessel has managed to pass the water through all the resin evenly,, unfortunately the vessels seem to channel water ( maybe over or under full ) so a good shake or empty and refill can give you 000 reading again for anywhere from a couple of days to a week
- that's my experience over the last 5 years

Darran

There is no proof to back this theory. It one of those thing that sound right but is scientifically incorrect as the water does filter through. If resin beads were  sand like  it would form  streams and even then it unlikely. Due to anionic and cationic field in the resin  it will draw the lime silt by adhesion. Its not that the water passes by the beads its drawn like a magnet. In fact if you shake up the vessel the first water out should  rise in tds  . Believe what you like, for me it's no.

It's not a case of belief but one of practical experience...

Never argue with an idiot, they will only bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience

I have quite a few di bottles, and Darran regardless of what ever anyone says your correct.

I tried this theory about 2 months ago with 2 x small di bottles and what I found was water going into first di was 068 and gave 000 so I knew it's was working connected up second bottle and left unattended to run into tank, less than 1 hour I checked water out of second bottle and was 034

I can fill my tank quite a few times using the same water supply with 11 L bottles and still get 000

If I can I use the RO but if I need water in a rush I will just go to this place and fill with tap water at 068
