Slappy - in theory that may be the case, assuming the DI vessel has managed to pass the water through all the resin evenly,, unfortunately the vessels seem to channel water ( maybe over or under full ) so a good shake or empty and refill can give you 000 reading again for anywhere from a couple of days to a week

There is no proof to back this theory. It one of those thing that sound right but is scientifically incorrect as the water does filter through. If resin beads were sand like it would form streams and even then it unlikely. Due to anionic and cationic field in the resin it will draw the lime silt by adhesion. Its not that the water passes by the beads its drawn like a magnet. In fact if you shake up the vessel the first water out should rise in tds . Believe what you like, for me it's no.
