Well, not me as far as I know but the last customer of the day. Bloody awkward or what? Didn't know if I should joke with him and try to cheer him up or what. That's the third or fourth customer that's given me the same kind of news over the years. All the rest have passed away.

Yeah found out recently a good customer of mine has terminal bowel cancer.
When he started getting symptoms he went to docs and tests revealed he has had it for approximately 2 years.
He's been told he's got 6-9 months left.
Was shocked when I heard.

id say nearly a quarter of my customers are "coffin dodgers".

its sad to see them getting older and worse healthwise.some of them have been with me for 22 years since i first started window cleaning.

quite a few have died over the last few years from cancer,heart disease and one customer topped herself.poor woman found out her husband was having an affair and took an overdose in a hotel room.

Make sure you keep informed when he is likely to cop it. Or youll be forever chasing that last payment

Yes several - i find it very awkward never really knowing what to say, but they seem to have come to terms with it, so I try to carry on as normal, friendly hello a bit of chat etc I do avoid asking if they a booked a holiday for next year tho.

Had one quite a few years back now, who was really emotional when I turned up one day. She told me she'd been diagnosed earlier that day. Hadn't a clue what to say, she was a lovely old bird.

Next time I turned up she'd died.

Even though doctors may have told them it is terminal I believe it is important people don't loose hope, I would tell them to do as much research as possible on alternative cures true it may not work in all cases but there is an ever increasing amount of evidence that it does work some times ,many don't know president Reagan had 3 very aggressive forms of cancer and cured them fully using what is called the 8th element he died cancer free at the age of 93
 It must be horrible to know you only have a few months left I know we all must die sometime but knowing we have such a short time and it will involve lots of pain and suffering is the last thing I would want to be focussing on

I`ve been diagnosed with Necrotising fasciitis the flesh eating bug. I`ve been given 22 years to live.
 On a more serious note, I would just carry on as normal but ask how he`s doing when you see him.
A friend of mine was given three months because of lung cancer. He told me that now he`s dying he`s going to make sure he lives the time he got left.

I had one customer, been going for years, she was always pleasent enough with me, i went the once and had to knock to go thru, and she wasnt happy, said "i cant be doing with it today" and slammed door.

I went again next month, same thing "cant be doing with it and ive got cancer" i said i wouldnt come again and she slammed door again.

I didnt know what to do or say. Felt sorry for her but i didnt see the need to be spoken to like that, i know the pain she must of been going thru, my mom had cancer, its not a nice time but my mom wouldnt of been rude to someone. I never saw her again so not sure what happened.
