Been looking for a new or nearly new van, thinking vw transporter now can get nearly new 1 year old for 15k +vat (trend line model) 25k miles, what you reckon or any new van deals about?

New vivaros aint holding money at all.

They have lost a fair amount in first year.

I think the styling on traffic is less "in ya face" so vauxhall are suffering.

Alright bud, I don't really like the vivaros, and currently have a transit its pretty old now but on its last legs, the vw transporter has a big following and are nice to drive, I want something reliable and not to go rusty like the transit, will keep it a long time so want a good one, any of you bought one recently?

Alright bud, I don't really like the vivaros, and currently have a transit its pretty old now but on its last legs, the vw transporter has a big following and are nice to drive, I want something reliable and not to go rusty like the transit, will keep it a long time so want a good one, any of you bought one recently?

Bad news. They all rust. A company I knows gets new ones every 2 years. Hes had the lot. Hes had problems with the VWs, rust and engine. Same with sprinters, but they do silly miles. Transits rust no more or less. If you are worried, have it treated

Transit customs are popping up with rust already.

I plan to sell mine when it's worth the same as the deposit as I put down. I estimate 5 years roughly.

The sixth generation is a facelift with a new engine and stop start added. A few other changes have been made.

The transit custom is basically a mk7 transit with a new she'll and dash.

I was told last week that the T6 won't be available until Q4 this year and it is all new, not just Tweeks.
I assume the Bentley gearbox from the Amarok will be an option too.

Depends on your budget mate i am quite happy buying a year old motor for £3,000 cheaper than new depending on mileage that is what i will be doing next year unless they can give me a top deal on brand new one .

Depends on your budget mate i am quite happy buying a year old motor for £3,000 cheaper than new depending on mileage that is what i will be doing next year unless they can give me a top deal on brand new one .

This is what I'm thinking mate can save quite a bit, also transporters just a few years older with higher mileage are still expensive so for couple of grand more can get nearly new...

i know you mentioned you dislike vivaro but you could pick up 1-2 years old with low mileage  for 9-11 plus vat and have a bit of money left for anything that might go wrong. even 3 years old can be had under 10 all in.

I have a vivario and traffic both bought from new approximately £13k, the vivario is one year old and the traffic is 6 years both galvanized both good work horses. Can't see the point in spending 16, 17, 18+ on a van they all do the same job.

I would hold off any purchases until after the general election.

I think we are going to be told some bad news with diesel engine taxation by whichever party gets into power. This might knock prices really badly. Just my opinion though.

Boris Johnston is the only one so far that has voiced his opinion on pollution which obviously is an excuse to raise taxes for the borough of London - the main party leaders won't be drawn on what they are going to do until after the general election.

It pays to shop around for good deals.  I was looking for nearly new but then found a deal for a decent high spec Trafic Sport brand new.  Was cheaper than nearly used. 

At least I know where its been, and to be able to relax with a 4 year warranty and 4 years breakdown cover. 

When kitting a van out with decent equipment, I need to get the longest life out of it.

Can see your point with buying vivaro/ traffics, just heard bad things about them reliability wise, another windy I know has one and the injectors went cost him 2k to repair its a vivaro but said its all Renault underneath?

Injectors can go on some vehicles through putting cheap supermarket diesel in , The people i know that have had injectors go have only used cheap diesel and the fuel has been blamed .
