How long does everyone get out of there Shurflo 100psi pump?
I have mine running for 6 hours a day and seem to have to replace them pretty much every 3 months 
Is this normal? I always try changing the pressure switch and cleaning the diaphragm and also checking for any loose connections.
Is this lifespan the norm as I was expecting to get longer out of the pumps and if it isn't I need to address the issue so any help is appreciated

My experience is that Shurflo is only any good if used with some sort of electronic flow controller.  My last shurflo pump lasted a month (some years ago).  I don't use an electronic flow controller so use flojet pumps as they seem much more robust (my current one has lasted several years to date).
Other people's experience may be different.

I used to use shurflo pumps and found the lifespan to be from 6 to 18 months.
For the last three and a half years I've had the same pump which is aquatec from pure freedom.
Forgot to say all pumps I've  used a controller

When i had my grippa system installed they suggested the aquatec. Have to say they run quieter,smoother and generate less heat.

Wont be using Shurflo again.

I've never had one fail 
I have replaced them over the years but usually for other problems not connected to the pump itself. I would have thought three years would be reasonable.

My Shurflo is still going strong after 5 years.
Probably replaced a couple of pressure switches in that time which cost a couple of quid from Maplins.

My current one is 7 years old & runs as good & as quiet as it did on day one. My previous one was 5 years old, I replaced it but it wasn't faulty as the problem turned out to be a connector. The first one was used with a bypass system (so ran flat out) & the current one has always been used with a varistream controller.
 Basic question I know but.... do you guys use a strainer/fine filter before the pump as there must be something fundamentally wrong  for your pumps to be failing so prematurely.

My Shurflo is about 7 years old and is still working to perfection o.k. its got a bit noisier but I will allow it that
one for all the work its done over the years.
They are the preferred choice of the motorhome, leisure vehicle industry and have been for many years so that must count for something.

 4 years old the current one I'm using,I always bypass the pressure switch. When I first started I used them with a connected pressure switch and it gave nothing but trouble.

5 years old is my shurflow.

It's never let me down once. No pressure switch problems, anything at all.

I'd buy another in a heart beat.

Farmers hammer them spraying crops- apple trees etc from the back of quad bikes,asked a farmer the other day and he said he never thought about it he's had it years

somethings wrong somewhere mate!3 MONTHS OUT OF A PUMP!! ???i change my resin around every 3 months but im only on my second shurflo in 5 years(first one lasted just over 3 years).

Thanks for the replies, I have ordered a strainer as I didn't have one fitted also I will get the flow controller back out if need be as I usually run the pump flat out

No mate, pressure switch is wired up.
Just as I bought it.

had mine for over 10 years it was a 75psi model from Peter Fogwill linked to a williamson pumps mk1 manual controller.

has now been replaced with a jap pump from vyair, impressed so far...
