Last year, I had phone calls from "the local police department" and they were doing some sort of campaign which can raise the awareness of my business. I said not interested then the person just hang up the phone on me.  are they scams?

'No' says I. 'Who are you?'
Got flustered then he hung up.

I was contacted twice by this scam artist, and contacted police telling them somebody was pretending to represent them !
They told me he was a con man, but didn't seem that bothered, and told me to contact trading standards.
Funny he is still in business still
