Not with slx39 but I do same with smax40
I've adapted it to a "hoseless" pole in a similar way to an exceed pole so adding and removing the sections is easy and takes seconds.
With 3 sections removed its approx. a 25 ft pole which I find useable for everyday and has saved a load of cash for the few windows I would've needed to go higher for with either extensions or another pole.

did you buy a slx 25 base section? or do you just remove sections and leave it like that?

No, I did not buy an additional base section, just an additional end cap to put on when sections are removed.
As a result the base section when not used as a 40 ft pole is not insulated, but that does not bother me.

i have an brand new slx39 thats gathering dust but used on the occasional job my slx22 doesnt reach.
i tried separating it and using it like a 18-22 pole but as the sections are longer than a normal 18-22 etc it feels quite whippy like using an clx again but abit lighter!!
