Best Pole for employees?
« on: February 06, 2015, 07:12:37 am »
For those that employ what pole would you recommend for them?
Ideally around 24 ft so they can access 2nd storey when required,
As everyone I am sure knows staff do not look after equipment like
you or me. So cost and spares do come into it.
Many Thanks
Russ

If you are earning £3000 a day and not VAT reg like some chumps. Go for extreme poles and replace them every week.

Now for some useful info.

Deffo CLX. Great for newbies. Then I would look at SLX's. As you will probably earn more. Easier to use. Less whip etc etc.

CLX 18s do 2nd floors for us, in each van we have 2 x 18ft poles and 1x 30-40ft depending on the round. No complaints about tired arms that way :)

Our northern round just bought 2 x SLX 18s and they swear they are worth the little extra money. As above says its what you can afford, with Gardiners the more you pay the better you get.

Slx 25 is the standard pole for my guys, does 99 % of our work, sl2 for higher than 3 storey work.

I start them off with a clx27 (training pole) if they treat that with respect then they get the slx

The guys use sl x's because they do have heavy workloads and I try to make their life as easy as poss.

I used to give staff extremes, to be honest they looked after them in a way!

But I would as many have said either slx 22" or 25 there robust enough even if they last a year they've earnt you well

+1  All our franchisees get a set of Brodex poles as part of the package.  They're welcome to buy whatever they want after that, but most of them still use the Brodex - and they still have their original poles!!  They also use converted Unger trad poles for 2-storie work - again tough as old boots but light enough to use all day and every day.

Seriously we have a couple of brodex metal poles and there ok for workers they are tough and quite light, the thing that spoils them is the heavy brush, which would probably take a direct hit from a nuclear bomb.
