Bit of a wake up call
« on: November 08, 2014, 01:46:55 pm »
Went for a pint in town, met husband and wife, got chatting, he got made redundant 30 years ago and went out with a mate window cleaning.
He fell off his ladder.
He was in a coma for 8 weeks, brain damaged, now he walks like a zombie, hardly knows who he's talking to and jumps from subject to subject and the wife says he doesn't really know whether he's here or what year he's in.
They lost the house, been renting ever since, she had to bring up the kids virtually alone while caring for him and is still caring for him.
Very sad story.

Very unnecessary to be going up and down ladders all day to clean windows.

The more that realise this the better.

True, except this was 30 years ago
