Whils't i agree with you about laminate, i would like to say that theres laminate, then theres the very high quality laminate. The cheapy stuff looks naff, but the expensive stuff is good, especially with some quality rugs on top.

However with dogs, it would soon get marked. Just out of curiosity, how often do you clean your own carpets? I keep telling my mrs that if she can come up with £40, i will clean her/our lounge carpet :D

She said she will pay me in kind :o :(   I said no thanx ::)

I do not understand why you come on here!

Seems you are on an awful lot never cleaned carpets before and try to give advice. A lot of which is wrong and i think in a lot of cases you are missing the point.

A lot of the time you appear to be antagonising people like the other day with Liahona but he wouldn't bite would he!

Here is another link that mite interest you....

also I believe the carpet and rug institute of America have a lot of info on the subject!

I know i have a reputation for being a bit of a wind up but you take the biscuit, why don't you switch off your computer and go down the pub for the night and chill out a bit!

Arthur,

If you do go to the pub tonight, you can call into the chippie on the way home and get a pasty and chips. You know the ones i mean, made by our friends down the bottom of the country, as opposed to the corned beef variety :D

As i understand it, it's their only success story apart from tourism of course.

Craig

I know what you mean about cheap carpets. Mine are felt backed and have lightened over the last few years. Mr wife wants laminate but i like carpet.

My point is to rely on independent studies.

...A lot of the time you appear to be antagonising people like the other day with Liahona but he wouldn't bite would he!

No he would not as Inland Revenue would swallow him  ;D

It is a fact, laminate sales are dropping,in relation to carpet sales, most,if not all of my clients who have had laminate fitted, are now going back to carpet

Make sure you do a full audit, ribbing in carpet will shrinks back in time, laminates don’t? What’s underneath?

Dave

Far too often for me, that why I’m ripping up the carpets to expose the hard wood floors I laid 18 years ago, that way she can hear her own eco!

Can you high light what product is a closed shop?

Over all I find this subject totally ironic! brother in law suffers from diabetes and is asthmatic, have given free samples. Won’t pay for it or not used!  There dog appears to have an allege to the carpet (vet), which has been down for about two years is being replaced with hard wood flooring labour only £1800 got it down to £800 (true)
