Sick of leaking tap fittings
« on: September 21, 2014, 08:54:10 pm »
Hi all,

I'm fed up with these fittings leaking and wearing quickly. Are there any other better alternatives?

I need a tap on the end of the reel that comes from my van. Thats important to me.

Cheers

Hi mate,I use the same set as you are showing,do have the tap in a leather holster that fits on your belt ? As that's what I do and find the tap will last a couple of years,
The other fittings I use is re thus 21 male fitting on tap, female on hose,I do find with the rectus fittings, that some do not last that long and start to drip, what I am now trying when I finish a job I keep all fittings together and put in van,the only downside to this is pole hose and reel hose need to get a few more bends and kinks, and need more straightening out

Try using o clips rather than jubilee clips, you may get a better longer seal.

Fit an aquatap on your pole, much better than an in line tap

I have a bunch of o clips and always crimp the ends otherwise the leak and it pes down your side.  drives me insane,  I changed to a new pole on Friday and it was leaking Saturday.   I stopped everything and crimped the end until the leak stoppled...

now a happy bunny.

Cheers guys.

I have an aquatap on one of my poles but not the other. Think i will just do away with the tap and fit the other pole with the aquatap then just have a female end on the end of the van reel
