condidering buying a bigger van with bigger setup but not lots of funds,
anyone had any major problems with higher mileage vans? its got around 150k on it and dont wanna shoot myself in the foot, i do hear of vans going up to 300k?

how many miles a year do you do in your work van?i do around 2500-3000 miles a year tops now i have another vehicle for evenings/weekends.

150,000 is a lot.highest mileage van was my kangoo at 126,000 when i bought it and sold it 4 years later with 138,000 on the clock.

my new van bought in april (connect t230)had 99,000 on when i bought it.now done 100,000.ill only put 12,000-15,000 on it in 5 years if it lasts that long!

probly around 5000 mark, mileage puts me off but from what ive seen even if its low mileage you can have major problems

I get my new van in two weeks and my 6 year old Ducato short w/b that i was keeping to start a second round may be available 37000 miles one owner.
After numerous people being interested and a couple of trails, I'm not going to employ. Ever.

Had promised it to a couple of lads on here before I though of adding a second van.
I would have to see if they were still interested before you..

i have a 2005 plate vivaro with 91 k on it n service history. timing n water pump done at 55k. new rear discs n calipers just about 1 year ago. decent enough van which i maybe selling soon

I would avoid it unless you know the history of the van. If you are limited for cash, you want something relatively simple and sturdy like a rear wheel drive transit (330 or 350 with the 2.4 engine), or possibly a lwb toyota hiace.

I had all this dilemma when replacing my van, in the end i just bought a box fresh van. We earn decent money from WFP. So why not eh!

I got a 1 owner full service history vivaro for £3.8k. Did 120k miles. Clutch went after 4k miles
But apart from that is sound. It's really
Just pot luck. The way I look at it, even with expensive repairs, the repairs cost less than the money you lose on depreciation over a newer

As an ex mechanic my idea has always been focus on the condition of the van and running gear,I've seen low mileage vans absolutely knackered and high mileage vans carefully looked after!
It's all about maintainence and care,at the end of the day they will be cheaper too because of the mileage so if there's anything suspect factor it into the price but I'd never be put off high mileage if the vehicle was mint, you could say components are more likely to go higher mileage but at the end of the day anything car fail whether high or low mileage.
People get put off old age vehicles too, I wasn't keen on my van but it was cheap clean and I know it was one of the best Diesel engines peugeot ever made so bought it and it's never gone wrong and I've never spent a bean on it apart from cambelt and service.
Just look for the best most looked after van you can get and try and see what history it's got and make sure you get it cheaper if it's got moon mileage😀

i meant 5000 miles, the van im looking at has system installed poles etc but mileage high

Anything with the Nissan 2.7 diesel engine  over 500k is not unheard of

Im aiming for 300k in mine. I rckon if she doesnt blow up in the next 3 years ill hit it.
I had an old old old mondeo diesal that died on 290k which i want to beat.

Mileage has never been an issue for us but it depends what you're buying:
I doubt any Ferrari would last much more than a 100,000 and an Elise or VX220 will disintegrate with about 60,000 up.
But both my Escort vans were 150,000 plus, my P100 around the 220 mark and my current daily driver 406 hdi at 227 and still feels really tight.
My working Ranger pickup is now on 140 plus and showing no signs of age.
