Hi guys,

Thought I'd do some weekend maintenance - thought It'd be a simple job - changing the carbon and sediment filters..

Two Q's really?? Pure Freedom on answer phone at 5.15pm need to work tomorrow p.m.

1. Do You use a 'strap wrench' to un nip the housings?

2. Is it clockwise or anti to un do the &&%$$£ things?

Anti clockwise, with your shoulders you shouldnt need a wrench

You should find a small button on top of the housing press it to release the pressure.
If the bowl is below the screw its clockwise to loosen it off, if its above the screw then anti clockwise.
It can take a bit off force at times.

I've found that if the rubber seals are old, it takes more force to tighten and un-tighten.  I've even had to fashion a longer handle out of an old aluminium pole (for extra leverage) and use a metal oil filter wrench to remove a filter housing before (I broke two plastic filter housing spanners prior to this).

Get some new rubber seals.

Wrong, I the bowls are underneath the fittings sitting downwards then it the opposite.
