Starting up again.
« on: June 25, 2014, 04:43:08 pm »
Hello everyone, after a nine year break from window cleaning I want to get a small round together to keep the money coming in when the pressure washing die's down in the winter months. Still got most of my gear and will be trad to begin with, just need some roof bars for the new van and some new cloths, oh and a few customers lol.
So what's new in the exciting world of cloths and is door knocking still the best way to get new customers as I was always rubbish at it.
Cheers
Rob.

Apart from the falling off bit I would stick to just ladders ... far simpler and less to go wrong if your just looking to do it part time

if your looking up start up this winter, door knocking would be the quickest way to get any kind of decent money together, unless you have means to put out a couple of thousand plus leaflets a week, i much prefer the leaflet method but our round is large and we don't want a lot of customers quickly

Been putting out leaflets but haven't had any success yet, so I had a spare half hour today and decided to knock some doors and picked up 3 £10 jobs  ;D
So I shall be knocking doors every evening for now on.

Find something that works, then keep doing it to get more customers. Keep it simple. All the best.

I would imagine picking up customers will be a lot harder than 9 years ago...best of luck with it though.

Maybe it is, but just keep doing what works.

You'll have to be more thorough about picking up new custards than you have been about that 350/400 litre tank you wanted from me.

Definitely harder to get the work nowadays with all these guys who have had redundancy money and brought wfp systems lol
Is the tank still available then?

Yes it is.

Just read the link you posted and noticed you've painted it black so it's no good for me as i need it for pressure washing and need to be able to see the water level from a distance.
