Look at this from the the George website lol

Q: When will you release a version of PocketGeorge for NetOS/iPhone/Andriod/Symbian/whatever...?

A: We will probably support a Smartphone operating  system at some point but it almost certainly won't be the iPhone as it has too small a market share.

It will probably be Android but Nokia are going to start making Windows Phone 7 handsets - which will probably make a big difference to the market.

Also, HP have announced they were going to start developing devices for the Palm NetOS platform. If HP release  the "Classic" emulator these devices would run PocketGeorge unchanged.

Hi Guys

George will run on a Windows 7 or 8 PC, laptop or tablet.

Not "Windows 8 RT" though - nothing much runs on that.

yes correct the toshiba has FULL windows 8.1 I have been using george on mine for 4 months and its great.

Is this what you have?

yes mate its brilliant!
cool,
can I ask, do you use it for george whilst out working "on the go" ?
would it work well for that purpose ?
I dont currently print out work sheets for myself, much prefer to just have the round with me on an old netbook, ticking the jobs off and updating as I go through the day.
i used to print worksheets so i could have access to things like customers telephone number just incase. Now as its so small i take it with me, keep it in the dash locked, and i have access to every detail! Past payements etc. Its great for when it rains aswell you can update your work and make good use of the time.
thank you,

Hi

Why?

iPhone market share is a fraction of Android.

Because I think you are missing a real trick.

We have two copies of George and in the family we have.

3 iPads

5 iPhones

No other mobile device or ipad device.

EVERY window cleaner I have met has an iPhone. It may have a smaller market overall
BUT you would be building an application for window cleaners. Not teachers.

I don't know the situation with George. We have been using it for maybe 2 years now.

But I don't see any updates or new features.

If an application was released for apple I think you would really have an edge over people. As for start you could charge for the app. Maybe not monthly but a one off?

Cleaner planner etc is all monthly payments.

i for one would buy a HP device if it ran the classic emulator for pocket george.this is all i need when im out and about window cleaning. minimum admin then sync/update when i get home.i dont want my round on my phone.i prefer a separate device specifically for work.

luckily for me my palm TX has loads of life left in it yet for now! ;) :)

Hi

I'd never develop anything for an Apple device but as it's market share is dropping I don't really need to.

The 8" Windows tablet looks ideal. It's fairly cheap and it runs full George. I'm not sure I need to develop anything mobile.
