Advice needed for Commerical Payment
« on: May 20, 2014, 05:13:33 pm »
Hi Fellas

Recently quoted a small block of rented flats for a guy who saw me working, he showed me around and said the property needed cleaning quarterly outside only and that a firm called Block Management UK Limited would be my point of contact.

A guy from there called today and sent over an email (work order) and it outlined that they are not responsible for payment, the invoice has to be addressed to another company called Queens Park Management Company Limited. (Queens park is the area the flats are in) Being nosey I done a quick search and while Block Management UK Limited is a registered company with website etc. Queens Park Management Company Limited is registered as dissolved.

This being the first type of work I've done like this, is this common or am I right to think that I'm about to clean somewhere and then not get paid?

Cheers, Tom

If in doubt, leave it out.
Or 50% upfront.
Sounds like I wouldn't bother though...

A walk up that wants it done and gives you the job to do , But wont deal with you so then passes you to a company , who gives you the job to do, But wont pay you So passes you on to another company that's dissolved

Id get back to the fella and ask him to explain or to get a number of whom you need to deal with regarding payment.

Thanks for the swift replies fellas I appreciate it.

Just rang and said that the firm listed for payment is dissolved the guy said that he needs to check with accounts and will email me again tomorrow, said it was a massive oversight and said he was worried himself as they are the firm they bill as well.

Still all seems dodgy to me, also thought it was quite strange that I got an answer at quarter to 7 from the same guy. (at Block Management UK Limited) Seems as if it is one of those business looking numbers that can be set up from home etc?

Will see what explanation is given tomorrow, although at the moment theres a good chance I don't hear a thing and some other poor sod gets offered the job! On the other hand it could be a genuine mistake and I may just be being over suspicious.

You probably already know this Tom but the companies house website says that Queens Park Management Company Ltd was dissolved in 2010.
Make of that what you will.
