As the title says,
Every time it rains it puts you on a downer, get sick of sitting in the van waiting for it to slow down , makes you think sometimes why do I bother,
Anyone else get like this?
Do work in the rain but hate it and think the customers don't appreciate it either .

Sometimes it's quite nice to sit and wait and relax. Browse on the phone, call a friend or if really desperate the wife. As long as it's just a heavy shower. If it's really persistent and heavy just call it a day.

That's why guys three years ago I stared adding other cleaning services.  We now offer carpet cleaning, end of tenancy cleaning, uPVC restoration, and gutter cleaning as part of our services.

All add bolt on's but works really well.

Couldn't agree more especially when its accompanied by gusty winds.
Plus there nothing as soul destroying as having a newly cleaned property blasted by
a heavy shower.
But like some on here I tried to clean in good weather only, but couldn't make it work.
I think to succeed in this business you need to get pride in your work beaten out of you.

just ignore it and carry on and in the style of Mr Dazmond ............ buy some gortex gear ...... I spent £100 on a lightweight  gortex Sprayway jacket ... great investment.

just clean until someone says no then fine no issues see you next month and move onto next job .. if they say can you call back tomorrow then sorry no in different area ..... Im only this way as I know rain does not make clean windows dirty ... just rain makes dirty windows spotty.

if you do the above you will either train em up or they will bin you so no problem just find some more customers who don't care if you clean in the rain or not .......... a lot of the time its in our own heads

i used to be like that but normally now just enjoy the challenge!!

yesterday its was awful at times!but still got all my scheduled work cleaned plus a f/s/g clean that was booked in.i even picked up a new £10 job WHILE IT WAS POURING WITH RAIN!!

i have too much work on at the moment and good money to be made to be worried about what customers think mate.

today i have 30+ housing association flats to clean this morning,a few run of the mill domestics,a £40 bi monthly and a £60 first clean to do and its forecast very wet all day.ill get it all cleaned though!

crack on with decent waterproofs and a smile on your face!joke with the customers that moan(most dont IME)AND THINK OF THE ££££££££££!!!!

When going out to clean in wet weather I always give one of my windows a clean just as tester.
There are days when I return home and the window is fine then other days when its is slightly dirty.
I have even come home to find it worse than when I cleaned it.
It depends what the rain absorbs before hitting the glass that determines if it will dirty it or not
but at times it certainly will.

yup I worked yesterday, stopped when it rained hard for a few minutes,  I was actually talking to a custy at the time and jumped on her porch to get out the rain... Just said oh typical English weather it will only last a few minutes and it did...

today on the other hand is going to be a wash out, heavy rain all day...  so another day off

if its not really windy you can work in heavy rain no problem!you will come home in the evening wet and tired but with a nice wedge in ya pocket

my van is booked in for vinyl wrap and signwriting next tuesday so it gives me even more motivation to get worked cleaned!

I knew it was going to rain today so booked my van in for its mot at 10. Had two good days so far this week so not really bothered!

Chucking it down here as well ATM along with quite strong winds so it's a day off for me.

I hate days like this as the missus lines up odd jobs for me to get done and then this afternoon the dreaded trip to the supermarket.

If it's going to rain, I prefer it all to come in a continuous downpour which, like today, was predicted. At least you can do something else, rather than sit in van waiting for showers to stop. Another problem is the weather forecasts themselves. If the following day's forecast is for rain I quite often don't call custies the evening before cus i know what the response will be. Yesterday was a decent day here - W.Mids - but the forecast was for rain. Custies often don't believe you can clean them in rain, think you're saying it cus it's in your interest. Wish could find definitive statement from Met Office or somewhere.

Don't call customers full stop its a bad habit and unless its a job with a large amount of travel involved don't look
at a weather forecast.
Lets say you call 15 customers and you have a good day so could do more, do you stop because you haven't called them.
Calling customers does away with the flexibility needed when doing this job and there is no need for it.
If its locked gates get a set of folding steps or replace the customer.

You can't do anything about the rain but you can do something about the downers.
It's easier said than done though.

Pees me off but just carry on the only thing that bugs me is me eyes really sting with the make up running in them pmsl !!!! 🙋👍
