hi lee i only rig mine up in the winter months.L5 heater and 13kg gas bottle.

i swap reels and hose for hot water too

cheap claber reel for cold water in spring/ summer

redashe reel and thermobore plus for hot in autumn/winter

as for being safe as long as the gas regulator is on tight and bottle secured and either fit a flue for fumes or leave a van door open i think its safe. :)
price higher/work harder!

Diesel is safer.

A diesel tank would never really explode. Gas canisters do though.

I've been considering a heater for a while. I had the idea to use an lpg gas tank from a car and filler cap so I can fill up at a petrol station. I took my spare wheel of ages ago so could get one of those doughnut tanks and just plumb it to an L5. The tanks are from £30 on ebay.
