im fed up of buying boots ive tried alsorts i think the pure water rots leather and man made uppers ive been considering getting gautex but dont want to to spend a fortune and having the the same problem. i only get about a couple of months before they start to leak what sort of boots do you guys have ?

try these .. cheap as chips .. last about 6 months .. warm and dry .. only let water in when they need changing but at these prices who cares ... buy em 3 pairs at a time .. bob plumb also swears by them

I've tried loads - all crap.Even the Goretex Berghaus ones - last about six months. Brashers were good but the soles wore out in five minutes. I normally spend upwards of £100 on each pair. Don't now why I bother.

When you buy a new pair of boots buy some dubbin and slap it on every other day. Had same pair of boots now for just short of 12 months, dry as a bone.

Karrimor walking boots from Sportsdirect 20 odd quid a pair chuck them away after 6-8 months and get another pair

Regatta shoes got returned after 2 months as they fell apart, splashed out on a pair of Mammut Gore-Tex from Go out doors and one shoe leaks after 8 months leaks Di water? apart from that there very good. Wouldn't go back to toe protectors unless working on sites.

its boots with lace ups that cause problems as well ive tride dubing it dose work to an extent but by the time yove bought the stuff its cost an arm and a leg. they has got to be some thing . i had had a pair of docs that i caked it dubing that was ok for a few months the cracks appered  across the front then that was it

British military surplus goretex lined work boots, grade 1 used are £30. I have had mine for nearly 2 years now and they are still waterproof. Not especially light, but very hard wearing.

If you are a bit sniffy about used, you can get them new for £50.

According to a survival program if you walked in the desert at night you'd end up where you started as your either right or left leg predominant this would apparently cause you to walk in circles. They didn't mention whether this would ware out one shoe quicker though.

They'll last two years and will be waterproof for every single day of those two years.  They have a steel toecap and a steel midsole (for those fence panels your customers like to leave, nail upwards, in their side passage).  They are comfortable on the day you buy them and never stop being nice to wear.  They are toasty warm in winter and fine for summer.

Don't worry, I know you're not listening.  Even Dave W, who's posted above about how crap boots are, ignored this advice last time he asked the question, so I'm not expecting you to buy any.  More fool you.

I used to do this and spend £20-£25. Last pair was £29.99 karrimor and looks to better quailty.

Karimoors used to last me a year. Then it was 6 months. Now it's 3 months! Stayed with same brand. But different style. After 4 months. Going very strong!!!!!
