Show homes
« on: April 03, 2014, 09:49:35 pm »
I have been offered some show homes to clean. It is an existing customer. I think it is a marketing suite, two three bedders and a four bedder with conservatory. My usual 8 weekly prices would be £25 for the suite, 3 bedders £16 each and £25 for the 4 bedder with conservatory.

But here is my dilemma, they are 30 miles away from me (1/2 hour), but.... They are weekly.

So it's £5kish a year (6 year development).

Any thoughts on pricing taking into account time and travel cost v large sum I over a year?

Your usual prices will be too expensive by about 50% (give or take a few percent depending on the builder)

That was my initial thought, but I've decided to do them early on a Friday morning. I may sub them when I can't fit them in anymore.

Wouldn't be worth it then with the traveling. Would those prices apply darn sarf?

I really don't know whether the prices fluctuate north-south, I just know what I'm able to get for showhomes and it's nowhere near your prices in the OP. Suppose it's possible that some builders pay those prices though.

Also bare in mind that weekly cleans those 4 houses and marketing suite will likely take only an hour to clean in total. Mine are 2 weekly and they literally need a single pass of the brush.

I did pick 'em up. At normal rates but obviously there is an hour travelling to factor in. For the moment weekly as it is a brand new site with lots of dust. I reckon it will drop to 2 weekly in time. I will see if I can pick up some more work in the town or I might just sub it out in a few months. I reckon I could sub it for half the sum I am charging.

Good on you. Sounds like a nice little earner at them rates.

Speak to the company that cleans the insides as they will also clean all of the new houses as they are finished.
I sub for a local cleaner that does lots for show homes and as they do the final cleans on the whole estate she leaves one of my cards for the new owners.
