Was asked to go price a nursing home and been to a few in my time and this one was like a 5 star hotel!!!! It was amazing even had a concierge for the residents. By far the best I've ever seen!

Anyway as I'm being shown around the guy tells me about how expensive it is to stay there.....£1000.00+ per week and that uk commercial cleaning do the windows and no one is happy with them because they miss windows and certain parts each time and that the guy has even told them that he can't clean it all because he is only assigned a certain amount of time to do it.

Anyway put my price in and thought its a nice job, nice surrounds so went in at £187.00 on a monthly clean, thinking keep it reasonable and my get asked to price their other 2 sites.

Hear back from them today saying that even though they are not happy with the current service and level of work, they will stay with uk com cleaning because they charge them £60 for each of the 3 sites.

Any ideas how these people think, it puzzles me?

Is it a Bupa home? They have the contract nationwide I believe and do a shocking job, they charge ridiculously low prices too. It's just a numbers game for them, if the sheets are signed they get paid and don't care for doing a quality job.

I do remember the guy saying how good they was when they come to deep clean the kitchen areas tho.

The problem is that the customer is use to paying £60.00 so anything above it is always  deemed as expensive so going from £60 to £180 ish is not going to happen even if they know in the back of there minds it may be a better clean , if you said £90.00 you may have got the job but then hated every minute of it.

I have to say it this is one of the reasons i dont get involved in commercial work, i just think my time is too precious to waste quoting for these jobs and knowing its always about the cheapest price to them

bob is  right..

they probably have to have the windows cleaned and at 60 quid is the current price they wont justify going to 180.. at the end of the day there doing what has been asked the windows are getting cleaned well... sort of and that's the end of that.

I don't round up or down, I quite for the amount of glass and take lots of pics and price it that way. Whatever it comes to that's the price they get

Prob about 3/3.5 hours with 1.5 hours traveling

in that case i would of priced it up at £200 2 monthly(to try and soften the blow!).and explain that its £100 a month for a proper clean.
