after nearly 5 years of doing this job and i am sure it applies to others, you do start to analyse people from the minute you meet them
Picked up a customer back before xmas and he was just full of himself, trying to sell me advertising space in "his" local mag that he ran, after the first clean dropped the money off at my house, unannounced,"just passing" he said, second clean payment ok, at his door, still talking about his mag and how made up he was with the system and i am justing thinking .......your going last about 2 more cleans.......next clean "can you leave it my old mum is staying and i dont want her disturbed by the pole" next clean the one just gone no payment so sent a text reminder tonight got a text back."been away in the lakes, payment in post, can you cancel as i have bought the equipment to do it my self"
£16.00 a month so not a small job, well not for me but from now on im looking for old ladies at £8.00 a go, they are more honest and appreciative 

Never mind i'm sure there's another bullsh***r just around the corner

The ones who get me are those who tell you they own lots of properties and then try and get you to do awkward/annoying jobs at short notice on the strength of maybe getting all of their work.

Nah each job on its own merits, bird in the hand etc etc.

I've had similar - people who look like they are going to buy a regular service from me while trying to sell me something like Amway/breakfast clubs or, in one case, a van (I kid you not).  It's amazing how their interest in clean windows wanes once they realise you're not buying from them.

plenty of people will pay £16(and a lot more!)to have their windows cleaned to a good standard regularly.it just depends what areas you work.

of course i also have the elderly customers who pay £7-£10 who are good as gold.always pay on time.genuine honest good people.

remember all our rounds are like shifting sand.customers come and go but a lot stick with us if we keep our side of the bargain(regular,reliable and do a good job at a fair price)

I had a few like him mate and  I laugh everytime I pass and see the streaks down the glass.
I think over the years you get a migration of up to 10% through reasons of some sort or another.

We put up with so much disrespect as window cleaners and cleaners by those who believe they are so much better than us laymen.
Green they are behind the ears.

I got into a dispute today where the customer booked a job in and I turn up to find someone else cleaning the job.
Only a little thing but the customer could really have to pay for my service as I attended as booked.
If the job is above £50 I do explain if you book the job you must give a clear 48 hours prior notice of cancellation.
If they fail to give this notice they have to pay part or the full cost.
Makes me sick that people think we are able to cover the wages to staff by their cheek of  no notice cancellation.
Plumbers charge fees we need to inforce a similar system to protect us from being out of pocket.

Anyway mate smile and think of the next 3 jobs you find replacing that waste of space guy.
Perhaps he will be advertising in his wonderful publication a new window cleaning service now he is competent enough to clean his own. Lol
