Working with FLU
« on: March 08, 2014, 08:16:28 am »
I was fine Monday morning,  did all my commercials but by lunch my muscles felt like they had done a whole 10 hours work.

By that night I  knew I was not well,  I took Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday off.  I went to the doctor on thursday and he said I have that mild flu virus .  So I thought Stuff it and went to work friday...

I lasted 2 hours and had to call it a day,  knackered, mainly because its in my left lung so its a bit hard to breath.

I have to clean 2 today but it looks like I have another month (3rd in a row) where I will be a week behind...  bugger

At least you gave it a go. Flu is different to a bad cold and you have no choice but to rest.

If you have the FLU you wont be working.
Had it once was bedded for 8 days could not move.
A cold is not the flu.

last year i was planning on going back early january.i couldnt get out of bed for 3 days.really ill.body ached all over, dizzy and sore throat.constant headaches, blurred vision, blocked nose.took me a week to get back to work.proper old skool flu.ive not been that ill for around 15 years!

the work can wait mate.just rest and take it easy.eat well.sleep well.

sometimes even with all the best intentions you need to listen to your body and take time out.

best wishes

You need to be careful of flu virus a mate of mine had the virus he would not listen to the doc and it went into his heart and he died 4 days later.32 years old, wife and 2 kids and he did not do manual work. Virus take advantage of a tired body so if you work you are making it easy for it to take over. If you have a fever  you have a virus. The cold symptoms do not have a fever as they are a bacteria not a virus.

From the 18th Dec - 4Th jan i basically had that new super bug. Constant vomiting and out the other end.

I have gone from just under 17stone to just over 15 stone since the 18th as my stomach is deffo smaller.

One thing i will say is i set myself back a few days by "trying" to work.

Lesson learned, if i am ill again. Work gets forgotten about to an extent
