skid tanks ?
« on: February 24, 2014, 08:55:33 pm »
I would be interested to know if anybody here uses a skid mounted water tank in a van or pick up.
how do you secure them ? Any pics ?  ;)

Later this year I may change work vehicle, I am wanting to build a system with integrated hose reel, pump, controller, battery, di etc all attached to either a bespoke baffled tank or tank with skid plate for ease of fitting and removal from vehicle.
Thanks

Thank god for that. I thought for a minute it was about a worst case scenario of skid marks.
Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

Hiya Gordon, I've had mine for 10 years I first had it bolted to floor but now strap it down. I think there good as its all compact, with the skid plate the tanks sits in it and the battery, pump & relay box alls Rees onto it so when you want to remove it just comes out as one piece. As the floor if the skid plate got holes I've screw it onto a piece of marine ply then screwed that to the plastic floor in my van. I've then put straps through the metal housing of the skid plate which goes onto the eyebolts on the van floor !!!! I think they do a 450 & 650 tank 👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Thanks very much for the info Danny
That sounds very much like the way I would like to set up next time and something I shall look further in to in the next few months.
