That's good, you claim the money back off the bank under section 75 of the consumer credit act , cause you paid by debit card you have 90 days to put your claim in, if you paid by visa, you would of had 6 years to put your claim in. Don't let the bank fob you off

halifax told me they need either the police or hsbc to ask for the money, thats why hsbc is sending the letter out

If you used your wife's hsbc debit card, then it's hsbc who you claim against. You have paid for goods that haven't arrived, the bank are at fault.

FFS! Report it to the Police and insist they act.  This is not a civil matter, its fraud and is a criminal matter and the Police will act.  Get him dealt with by the law.

The correct way of dealing with it if I did do what I suggested, would be to visit Weymouth police station, and explain to the shift sergeant there what had been going on, had him a print out of the threads on here about Mr P Allen and explain to him that I was going around to visit the fella and see if I could suggest a deal which involves this guy paying back the money which we all believe he has stolen from some decent members from this forum.

Nowt wrong, immoral or illegal about that is there?

No there isn't dean, it's commendable.

I don't think anyone was trying to throw water on the idea, just how it appeared earlier.

A couple of letters making allegations of your conduct (regardless of truth) will end up on someone's desk and could cause you inconvenience if nothing else.
Record your meeting on your phone or something if you do go face to face.

Malicious people can create all sorts of problems for any government organisation type person, if they choose to be deceitful and targeted in their intentions.

Cover your back is more the message, I think.

I have been by his house today but no sign of anyone around, but I know he is stillgoing around as he isputting cards through my customers doors all around the littlemoor area and also in weymouth town and dorchester. i will speak to some.other local cleaners and see if we can pinpoint his main atea of work so some of the ones that have been scammed can pay him a visit. He is an absolute twat havenat actually seen him around for a while but have heard he is still very active in certain areas
