Residual income is also known as passive or recurring income and is different from a regular wage that's based on the number of hours invested in a particular job. Residual income continues to generate itself even after the work has been completed. Such income helps you earn more while working less as it continues to pay recurrently for work done once.

Interesting?, you jest, surely?.

I clean windows, it isn't a particularly interesting way to earn a living, but it provides a living and pays the bills!

Hi Dave. You have stepped onto a higher plane. Please explain what you mean in simple terms so I can understand.  ;)

Thanks.

windows are my residual (basic wage) and UPVC, conservatory cleaning are my bonus'.
The bonus' are near on equalling my residual now.

I promised myself i would never employ or go VAT reg, unfortunatley, it may have to happen due to the bonus'.  ;)

My 5 year goal is to be sat on a beach somewhere hot with a tall leggy blonde serving me cool drinks whist fanning me with a palm frond.
My income will be coming in steadily allowing me to enjoy all the good things in life.

But no doubt I will still be wrapped up against the cold whilst pushing a pole up and down to clean Mrs Jones windows while she scowls at me from the other side of the glass, dressed in her long house coat and her rollers in.

I will then knock for my measly 5 quid and act grateful that she allows me to work for the cost of today's beer and fAgs.

oh happy days   :)

Someone I used to work for tried that.
5 years working his conkers off. Gave himself a heart attack.
What's he do now?
Simpler life and wfp's 2 easy days a week.

Not saying it can't be done but who would you want to?
A little work is nice.

Why not have a fleet of vans all working for themselves under your 'banner' so too speak, all paying you a comission because you have done all the initial hard work, ie building your brand, good reputation, marketting techniques and supplying them with there customers.
Who seriously wants to be cleaning windows till they retire?

Before you all start saying dont be daft why would anyone do that? Surely they would start up there own business from scratch!
This is a fair comment, many on here would not dream of buying into a franchise set up, but guess what, thousands out there will and do, so many people want the flexibility of been self employed but are too scared to take the plunge. Franchising offers them a form of security.

I would seriously recommend all serious window cleaning business builders to consider the 'Franchise' route for building a great business and a very nice 'residual' income that you will recieve long after you have layed your pole down from its last clean.

Hope this sheds some light onto the title of this post.
Happy cleaning!
