There's a fella in Stamford who has a few boys on his team.
His Mrs collects the whole weeks takings on a Saturday morning.
Regular as clock-work.

I know it's a bit sexist but I wouldn't be happy with my wife carrying 4 figures+ in cash on her but at least he knows his lads ain't skimming.

As has been said-the only real way to sure is using someone you truly trust. But even then you may still get bitten.
I trusted someone almost implicitly but he stabbed me in the back.
Don't know until you know.

On the flip side, when I started I worked for a guy for about 18 months.
I was doing about £6k a month for him and collecting about half(ish)
Half of that again in cash.
Obviously extra's came up every month.
I can honestly say I never creamed off the top.
Conservatory roofs. Extra insides. FSG's. I told him about every single one.
The deal was that I got half of what was earned.
I was happy at that.

Persevere OP. That guy is out there.

that's the one where the employees will take is the connie roofs, gutter cleaning e.t.c but like you say if its 50/50 then they wont have to. whoever said about restraint of trade is having a laugh most wont be going through books when they first set up anyway and if you have even half intelligent lads working for you not showing them the list/book wont help at all cause they will still know the houses and will just go and knock on each door giving a rock bottom price.
