hot water...teething troubles!
« on: November 01, 2013, 09:13:57 pm »
Fitted heater.plumbed it in and works fine as long as the water control on heater is set to min.

Cleaned van,4 neighbours windows for free and my own windows.had water heat on half way and the hose popped off the inside of the reel.the pressure and steam was unreal.side of reel leaking as well.oh and my gardiner pu hose popped out of aquadaptor!! ;D

Changed pole hose to ad red hose.now fine.the heat on the last bit of hose on reel was boiling!but the water at brush end was just quite warm!the brass barb that the hose is on will have to be a tighter fit and the screw on outside will have to be tighter!

Small increments of turn of the gas numpty will alter the heat.
Halfway around on the gas is too hot, you will have to play around when you have more time, to find what settins suite you best

Ben it's the red AD hose that's suitable for hot water.works fine even with very hot water.the gardiners PU hose just stretched too much and popped off the AD! ::)roll.im gonna have another tinker with it all again tomorrow ready for Monday morning.it certainly highlights the weak links in my system!mainly reel to hose connections! ::)roll

That's half the fun Daz.

You'll get it all sorted then something else will crop up!

Keep at it though, it's well worth it.

What do you guys use to fit your microbore to inside of your reel?i have a brass hose barb recommended by Alex but it's not a tight fit so I'm gonna put some tape around barb and make sure it's a really tight fit then more tape around microbore followed by a tight jubilee clip.ive got a feeling it'll still pop off when I crank the heat up though! ::)roll

Back your pressure down. You'll hear the pump still running when you turn the water off most likely. Even thermobore expands with heat. double o rings or jubilee clips help.

Small but perfectley formed

Dave the pump keeps running for ages when I turn the tap off at brush end.I've set the calibration lower on flowcontroller(25)my flow is set at 60.makes no difference.

I don't want to be messing about with this all the time!I want to be cleaning and earning money!! ;D

I have mine at 60
Calibration I think ATM I've left it as it is - probably in the 50 zone , can't remember mine just works
Mine was the £95 LPG off eBay , 2nd year now

Don't use any hose locks with stops in them
Trico flex hose doesn't pop off .
Trial and error then your there

I & a few others who use hot, use the anologue pump controllers from Gardiners with the external D/E control numpty.
Its easy to set the flow and D/E which will alter with how hot/cold the water is.
This will also help with connectors popping off because of pressure build up.
As for the hose reel internal  bard fitting, is this on your new reel, try doubling up the "eared " hose connectors

The washing machine hose I binned after about a day .
Coils up , blows off etc

TricoFlex for me . I guess you only need about 2 meters at the most .
See if anyone has spare to post to you. .
I haven't as I use it to fill from outside tap to van as well
