Thanks Avo
According to another company that spoke to today, the sky vacs are 30% carbon. I won't say who they are as I don't want to start a war. However this maybe the case. The chances are that they are, a long with lots of other items we think of as pure carbon. I do know that the process of making carbon use to be very expensive, so maybe manufacturers are making a compromise over price against purity.  If it works, and fits my pocket great.

Well in that case they misleading the customers then, because in Sky vac web site, they say their poles are 100% Carbon fibre.  :o :o

Here is a section of the email sent to me.
- These tubes have a very low carbon content (30%) and diameter is only Ø44mm as opposed to our Ø50mm. Nett result of both these facts is that they're only ~half the stiffness.
As I said, I prefer not to mention the company, and ask that there is no speculation online. I'm sure that they're not slagging off, more pointing out their USP.

Hi,
Really enjoying this thread at the moment, I have been looking for something to do while its raining :) would love to get into high level commercial workshops to get out of the rain. Even gutter clearing in the dryer weather.
Would this be any use as an inspection camera? Images can be seen on iphones or compactable mobiles.

Many Thanks

I ordered 10m (5 x 2m lengths) from this company - http://www.carbonfibretubes.co.uk/ as stated in an earlier post.

They got delivered this morning. under £400 for the poles including delivery. Very very light, no flex, feel really strong. I dont know what carbon content they are, but i am assuming as the company specialize in carbon poles, that the content would be reasonably high.

The tubes are modular, fit together really easy.

Cant wait to test them out.

I just read this tread and I thought I give you guys a bit of advice, have bought some gutter poles from Sky vac, and couple time they got broke, and told them about it.
They send me a replacement but then I thought it shouldn’t break that soon, specially if I had them only couple of months, so I am thinking if they are 100% genuine Carbone fibre or not, so if it happens to any of you guys, watch out, it could be a mixture of all kinds of things,  Genuine Carbone is very strong and shouldn’t break very easy.

The poles on ebay are 30% Carbon as stated in listing were as on  there website the poles are 100% Carbon and that's reflected in the price they.

5ft x 2” diameter poles each weighing approx 825 grams

which is less than bag of sugar , il be doing 2 storey houses....four poles = four bags of sugar...........

is this really that heavy lads? id say i clean out 20/30 gutters per year

I use alloy and they are ok until you get in the gutter and all the crap sticks to the inside of the poles making them a lot heavier i'l be upgrading to Carbon at some point just for ease and also peace of mind incase poles fell etc.

Hi guys
I came a cross this site when one member here mentioned this company.

http://www.grippatank.co.uk/vacuum/high-level-vacuum-poles-kits-spares/carbon-poles-upto-60ft.html

So who has used their gutter vac poles ?
Do they just sell these poles, or do they manufacture them too?
They don’t seem to market it that well like Sky vac, so are these poles any good?
I love to know if they are 100% Carbone fibre.

I use the Gutter Vac equipment and their carbon poles.  I've got 5 poles and have used them to clean a big church without major problems (on my own)

I find them very good and like dealing with Grippa tank as they are really helpful when i've needed advice.

i believe they are base sections from gardiners superlite modular poles.

Am i right in thinking they use a clamp on the grippa poles or are they just push fit?

Very helpful info, so if Gardiners make them, they got to be good, I have an SLX Gardiner, which I have had for past 2 years, and still going strong, so if Gardiners making these poles, they got to be 100% Carbone fibre.

Just bought Skyvac's industrial vac today with 8 poles, 12m reach. Have to say the contact there Andy Whiting was excellent and very helpful, very keen to make sure the customer knows what they are getting -  up with there with Gardiners for professionalism.

They give a choice of 44mm diameter poles or 52mm. Haven't decided which ones to go for yet. Anyone have either and would recommend??

Thanks
Tom
