I can't believe that I used to go to all that time and trouble of constructing these brushes back in 2004, when the allure of WFP superiority first saw my conversion.

These Salmon brushes weigh practically three times that of the corresponding Extreme brushes (350 mm wide ) and five times that of the brushes that I'm using these days.

So, just for the sake of a little nostalgia, I thought I'd put this monument to a bygone era through its paces one last time by cleaning my windows, only to be rudely reminded that, in juxtaposition with what I've become accustomed to, these brushes seriously suck!

I mean, the forces of friction and gravity conspired alarmingly to dictate the pace, which, despite any counter active muscular contractions on behalf of my upper body, meant I was a good deal slower over all.

Its only saving grace perhaps, would be that the positioning of the overhead jets means that you never have to remove the bristles in any way to achieve a thorough rinse of the glass.

Yep! sometimes we need to revisit the past to see how far we have come.

I was looking at a modified Bentley brush I still have in the van that I never used. The thought did go through my mind that I should give it to SIL to use as he hasn't a clue about that era, but I decided not to be so cruel.

I cleaned a house today that has a large conservatory infront of one of the bedroom windows. When we first started we were unable to clean that window as the Unger Teleplus pole with Vikan brush was too heavy. Now we do it with a little effort with an SLX22 and an extreme brush.

There's a window cleaner around here who's still using one of those original dead weight yellow fibreglass Ionics pole with a Vikan brush head.

im far worse than that i use old unger telepole for anything over
30ft and my favourite harris poles with heatshrink on anything lower
and i even on occasion use a vikan sill brush on con cleans.

i must admit i do have some nice light gardiner brushes,i personally
think the weight on the end of the pole is more important than the
pole its self
