Whats this tile - I think it might be a repro tile - this floor is in a reception area of an office on an industrial estate - seen similar things trying to look like york sandstone

Any better ideas?? I have not visited site yet this is a customers picture.

Doesn't look like Tile to me and if it is I have never seen it.  It looks like some sort of an interlocking safety floor to me ???


Maybe someone else can help or have you tried the other forum you visit in the tilers section?

The safety floor is the bit they have uplifted the subfloor below is the bit they are interested in - its got a grid imprinted on it from the underside of the safety floor they thats been sat on it.

Are you on Drugs or what?  You're expecting someone to identify a tile that is covered in adhesive???  Come on mate my Crystal Ball is Knac**red!

No I've given them up :D I think they are a man made tile, the one in the top left has a riven surface, factory a few miles from me that knocks out artificial reproduction paving slabs supposed to look like York sandstone. I'll go and have a look at them...

They look a bit like the quarry tiles you find in changing rooms and shower areas.

I find most tiles in changing rooms and showers are porcelain!
