Good luck Steve,

never mind sounds like your doing really really well.

Some on here are absolutely clueless and take pleasure thinking they are clever.

Suppose at the end of the month when money is counted you will be having the biggest laugh
+1 I take my hat off to anyone who can score big contracts. Keep it up!!

Thanks Diamond. :)

Maybe on the wrong forum possibly? Can't see many windowcleaners attending a meeting about energy somehow.

I have a meeting with a glass manufacturer tomorrow anyone coming?

I'm taking my business up to the next level.
I'd say that with the amount of window cleaners on here now offering solar panel cleaning, virtually no one had a solar page 2 years ago, I'd say that if they are now offering it as a new service, a solar event is the perfect place for them to be.

Lots of people on their websites claim to be 'fully trained'.  Where are they receiving this training, if not at a solar event?

Or..........................I wonder.............................if perhaps............................... some are advertising/doing it without knowing the first bit about it??? ::)roll ::)roll ::)roll

Anyway, I'm off to wash my hair...
Interesting how there has been no replies to this... ::)roll

Come on Steve, wake up. How long do you think it would take to train one of us up to scrub a solar panel? Honestly?

An hour maybe? Probably less.

You're not trained to clean one either - so how can you criticize everyone else?

Well done with your business but don't come on this forum and think you are all superior like some do, you are no different to anyone else. You've simply pushed your business in a place where many don't want to go.
If that's what you want then good for you.
You haven't got many replies because for most of us, it simply doesn't interest us. I wouldn't go to a window cleaning show let alone a renewable energy lecture. If you want more replies then a small business forum rather than a windowcleaners forum might give you more.

You did say in your original post you wouldn't think it would interest many on here  ???

It's like a cleaner going to a white goods exhibition and thinking she is part of the growth in halogen hobs.

Always good to talk things through Dave.  :)

How long do I think it would take? Not long at all. But it is not about scrubbing a panel, it's about H&S, risk assessments, marketing, the pitch, the future of the market. I have said many, many times on here that ANYONE can clean a panel, even my granny if if gave her an Extreme!  ;D But IMO, there is more to THE CLEAN.

I am not trained and do not claim to be. I do think however, that I should be and I should have some sort of qualification before I deal with something that carries a higher risk than window cleaning. If there was a course, I would be first on it because I know there should be some sort of standard to meet. Cherry pickers are not difficult at all to operate, the moving them around is not hard, but IPAF licences are required due to the potential risk. Personally, I feel solar is the same.

You say I have pushed my business where many don't want to go, but I bet that if you polled the window cleaners with a website and asked what service/webpage they have most recently added, I bet it is solar panel cleaning. This indicates it is a place where many want to push their business.

For the above reason, a cleaning forum is the best place for me to post because that is where the most potential is for solar panel CLEANING.

I did say I didn't expect it to get much response, but it is interesting how people who are not interested still respond. I only respond to threads I'm interested in, but maybe that's just me...

Archer do you fancy steve??? You couldnt get any further up hes behind if you tried lol..
I do agree with you but calm down or ill be questioning your sexuality. ;D

Bottom line is anybody can clean a solar panel, i have done them for years for eager who do them via government grants, i never make a big song and dance about cleaning them as they are as said simple and straight forward to do, now if i had some of the contracts you have archer then training for me would be a must.
Top respect to what a gay man as yourself has achieved. ;D

But Steve, can't you see the irony of your post?

You've built a big business cleaning solar panels we know that because you tell us. You've gained massive contracts with no training in cleaning panels whatsoever. Yet, you ridicule people who advertise the same service as you because they don't have training, you want to set up a city and guilds training course (and make money out of it).

If you can do it with no qualifications then why should anyone else need one?

Incidentally I said well done with your business (I meant that). When I said many members here wouldn't want to take their businesses to that level I meant the size of it. Many of us are content with where we are. Some who choose to employ think they are better than others (just look at the posts). I didn't say you were one of them I said don't become one of them.

Have you ever thought Archer that people might just be doing very well, much better than yourself or Big Stevie but not feel the need to create posts solely for the purpose of reminding others of that fact?

You must walk round lob-sided with all those chisel marks on your shoulder!! ;D

Get over yourself lad!! ;)
