Tmobile problems??
« on: September 07, 2013, 04:15:08 pm »
i took out a contract with the Iphone 4S about 14 months ago.
I pay £45.00 a month and that includes unlimited everything, wich is perfect for work.
however for months now in 3 of the 5 areas I work in every month my 3G internet doesn't work at all... and even when it does its so slow
just wondering if anyone else has the same problem? because I feel im been ripped off considering I pay £45.00 every month for something I am not getting

The trouble with the mobile phone contracts is: that they are totally weighted in favor of themselves . . . .if you get bad service you are stuck with it for two years  ::)roll

Another thing is, alright having a smartphone, but if it is an idiot operating it ( me ) it is a waste of money  ;D

I realise you're probably stuck in contract for a bit but you could check coverage with other providers (it'll be on their respective websites) to see if they deliver a better service.
In well over half of the places I work I barely get phone reception, let alone 3G.

Over the years I have asked a few customers if I can use their wifi, no-one has said no yet.
If I'm waiting for something important I just pull up to within reception range and use the wifi.
No-one has minded me parking so far, I've told them what I was doing.
A few have even made me a brew while I'm there, even though I wasn't cleaning for them at the time.
Selected customers obviously.

Same here. It seems ever since EE came on the scene reception took a dive.

I get NO SERVICE in busy towns. My partner, mum and dad are all the same.

The only solution is to switch the phone on and off.

Got iPhone 5/4/3GS and all the same.

I WOULD upgrade to 4g but like someone said. 3G ain't even fixed
 :(

PureH2O, might not be worth you upgrading to 4G anyway.
There's gonna be a case coming up where Voda and (I think) O2 are being sued cause iPhone 5's won't ever work on their 4G as its a different bandwidth.
People were buying handsets thinking when it was rolled out they would auto get it but won't-missold.
Google it for more info (if you care)

I bought mine from T-Mobile about the same time but it was only £36 for unlimited data and texts with calls capped at 2000 minutes per month - 33.33 hours monthly I find is more than enough.
I live and work in the rurals of East Devon, West Dorset and South Somerset and find that it works extremely well. Phone coverage is excellent and certainly as good as any of the other networks especially as we now get Orange coverage included under the EE banner. 3G is generally very good too. I get 3-5Mbps at home and upwards of 6Mbps in the open country and most of the towns. There are places where the 3G drops out but not many. It could be that there aren't that many people using the individual cells at any one time unlike a more built up area. T-Mobile customer service is as useless as the rest but overall, in my local situation, I find the Network Performance excellent and the iPhone 4S quite brilliant - and we get IOS 7 next week for free !

Just checked my paper bill and my standard price is £41.00 a month for unlimated everything but always comes out at about £45 as some customers are away when i ring and text, also i have had me phone 18months.
I rang tmobile complained and they said " we can see there is work been completed in your area"
I said "what for thr past 3 months? "
Anyway i have reset my network settings and will see if that changes.

Im due an upgrade in febuary so i will bite the bullet until then and possibly change
Companys.

Due to their incorporation of Orange, T-Mobile (EE) are now the biggest UK network. Sounds like you might have a handset issue. If you're going to change networks it might pay to get some cheap Pay-as-you-go handsets on other networks and see if the coverage is any better before you set up a new contract...

I carry an 02 PAYG phone with me out here in the fields and find that it will work in some places that EE won't and vice versa. There are still a few areas locally with absolutely no network coverage at all so I appreciate it is a bit hit and miss. Voice calls are available locally 90% of the time and I cover an area of more than 30 miles on the South West coast. Orange always was good down here and the addition of T-Mobile has made it really good. Spoke to T-Mobile earlier in the year and they told me that a number of shared cell masts are going to be turned off over the next year or so but the remaining ones will be upgraded to cope with faster data rates and more call capacity - I'll wait and see...

i use an 02 HTC smartphone on pay and go.the tariff im on is £20 a month.500 mins, unlimited texts and 1 GB of data.easy enough for my needs.

mind you the phone cost me £300 over 2 years ago!but if its costing you £41 a month with free phone and  i get a new one at £300 every 2 years im saving £200 compared to being on your contract.

i find theres certain deadspots in areas where i work where i cant even send a text!very frustrating sometimes! >:( >:(
price higher/work harder!

From many of your comments I can only conclude that the South West has an extremely well advanced mobile network.

i do live very close to Middlesbrough so it is quite possible the phone masts were stripped and weighed in by the local gypsies:D
