green inside tank

Hi guys nearly died yesterday wen i looked inside my tank it was green slim on side of tank what can i use to kill or clean lol

I fill up with tap water then put loads of rags  in  and go for a drive works a treat.

Wash tank with bleach rinse well with tap water, fill tank with pure and empty a couple of times.
When youv done this you need to stop sunlight getting at your tank as this is how the algea grows

done this myself the other week in my IBC used 4 litres of bleech left it over night with some water killed it all.

then rinsed it all out. really do need to cover it up!

Get a algae eater from the tropical fish shop drop it in the tank remember never let the tank get empty.

Put my fish in my tanks in the winter to stop them from freezing up
Takings off all first cleans till march 7th 2014
October  total=  cleaned  extra per month
November = cleaned extra per month
Total £  so far.

Top tip on here years ago:

Paint it black. Before painting put a strip of masking tape on the tank from top to bottom. Once you have painted it, remove the masking tape. You will then be able to see your water level.

Once totally dry, put tank back into cage and touch up any scratches
Success is 1% inspiration, 98% perspiration and 2% attention to detail!

The older I get, the better I was ;)

Milton fluid. 3 litres in a 400ltr tank filled up & left overnight then drained & flushed out with the hosepipe.  ;)

Can't afford to waste that much water down our way - cheaper to put 400l of Milton in!
