To all you trolley users out there....
« on: June 09, 2013, 08:39:04 am »
Hi I currently use a trolley which is great for my business at the moment but because my pole hose isn't too long I have to move my trolley in between windows. I also have a tap on the base of my pole for control so I can save water.
But I have a big loop of pole hose which gets tangled if you understand me.

My question is how do you have your trolley set up. Hose length and water control suggestion really.

Thanks for all your suggestions including the inevitable 'get shot of trolley and get a van mount' ones.

Found your trolley if you go to www.amazon.co.uk   their is a clarke 9mtr air hose reel for £39.50 which you will be able to attach to your trolley with some heavy duty cable ties .

I used something similar when i used a Pure freedom trolley . Mike

That looks quite good Mike.

What connections did you use? I see it comes with 1/4" bsp connectors can they be adapted for hose?

I use the van mount but the lads use 125lt trolleys fitted with 100mt 6mm microbore hose.

Lasts roughly 2 hours without moving the trolley on compact work, leave barrells at stategic points and the worker is fine for half/full days at a time.

simon thats a really good idea.  perhaps easier to manage than a two man van system set up?  certainly far easier to do separate houses

and of course you can get the employee to use the trolley set up, to save your back ache! definitely food for thought, seems to offer a lot more flexibility than a two man van set up

Ez snap fittings from gardiners along with the inline tap fitting , You will need a jubilee clip for the hose reel end to ensure a tight leak free fitting . Mike

And I heard some guys are paying hundreds of pounds on a pole, when a £15 Harris does exactly the same job!!!  ;D

Thanks for that, and yes both methods have their plusses and negs.  It's all about getting a good balance, horses for courses and all that... :)
