A friend of mine bought some work a while back off a guy, he turned up to do a house this week and the guy was back there doing the neighbours house ( a large non-regular job)

my friend approached the guy and he said well they phoned me up, he apparently exchanged words and then said see you in court then. I was impressed he stopped short of smacking the guy but anyway......

He has a written contract signed by both saying the seller will not take the work back. Does anyone know Who should he contact about this police/ solicitors etc?

Thing is, hes not taking the work back... he cleaning for a new customer. I imagine that your friend will only have a leg to stand on if in the signed contract, it states that the seller is not to continue window cleaning in that specific area.

Definitely not the police, it's not a criminal matter.

 If this guy was just working at a neighbours house though surely he hasn't broke the terms of the contract unless it clearly states he is not to clean in that specific area.

In that case your friend probably has 2 option

1-  get a good solicitor and pursue legal action.

2-  forget about it and move on.

One of these options will be more expensive than the other.

Move on. He only has to say something like " The guy he sold it to was sacked for exposing himself/nicking something/trying it on with the homeowner so he was sacked" Then you end up with more problems than you really want.

And if the contract is no good then he could claw back all his work and your mate will be left without the round he bought .

Your mate needs to work hard with his newly bought custys to ensure they are are happy with his service and that they are fully aware that he has taken over the round and has paid good money for it

And to ensure this idiot who has bought the round off does not take back over the round , But it could be a one off some custys get so used to have their window cleaner who they have had for years and cant accept having someone else .

But the guy should have said no or should have contacted your mate and had a chat and apology would have been a good idea . Mike

2 options.

1, suck it up-walk away
2, give him the hiding of his life

Contract this & that is all BS. The only winners there will be solicitors.
