Had one crack on me today, went with a bang

depends if you know the glass suppliers or not and if you can do it yourself,

i had a stone smash one on a building job i was doing, phoned mate up and in 3 hours picked the new glass panel,
cost me £20 2ft x 4ft double glazed unit.

if i was charging for the job could be looking upto about £80-£150 depending how easy it is to get to,

Depends on size if it is a window which is down to ground level then it will be more money as it needs to be toughend glass . Mike

If it has crack through it, its standard float glass, if it shattered, it's toughened glass.

Minimum is going to be £80-£100 depending on size and if its toughened or not, thats if you get someone out to replace it.

If you replace it yourself it will not be around 50 quid for a half door. What I have down if only crack in one side is remove the broken glass and have a sheet cut to size and bond it with contact glue in place of the cracked one.Thich I remove with Stanley knife.But you need to cut just  under the cracked glass.Save a fortune.
I will wait for the smart asses to come along and tell me different. WELL I HAVE. NO PROBLEMS.

whats ur excess on the insurance and dont forget it might put the payments up next time u renew

So about 900mm x 600mm. Sounds about right to me. They have got to come out measure it, order it, and go back and replace it, and dispose of the old unit. Was it toughened?
