« on: March 26, 2013, 01:43:16 pm »
I've thrown together a video for my website:

I'm collecting video shorts to make a better one sometime.

Any comments good, bad or ugly......

Honestly, I don't like it.

First off, it isn't a video, it's just a collection of still images with moving captions, so would be better as a gallery.  One of my pet hates is when people use video to show still images - the whole idea of video is that you see moving action!  But that's just me.

Then there's the music, it doesn't go, so its more of a distraction than anything else.  Plus I doubt you got permission to use that music so it'll only be up on youtube for a few weeks before they remove the sound altogether.

Then there's the bits of humor, like "this is filler video from the lake district..." and "did you get that number...?" and "sorry we can't work for free".  Some may find this mildly funny, but most will think its unprofessional.

What you really need is some video of you actually working, looking smart and doing hard-to-reach windows. That will impress customers imo

Your website is nice - clean and straightforward.  It looks professional, IMO this video does not match, and does you more harm than good.

Sorry to be a whinger, but that's my opinion.
