So I recieved my verification pin, typed it in and waited.

And waited.. And waited. 3 months. still heard nothing from them. When i logged into my places account it still said "waiting for approval"


Since it has been several months now, I decided to visit 'contact us' on google places.

It asked me a load of questions and finally gave me the option of 'phone us'

They phone you in fact, but they will do it for American numbers only.

So I  

- Signed up a for a free trial Tollfreeforwarding.com
- put my new American toll free number into the 'phone me' box.
- Wholla. Within a few seconds I am speaking to someone at google.
- Get off the phone and send tollfreeforwarding an email asking to cancel my free trial. I also changed my billing address to a bogus one to be safe.

It turns out my advert had been dissaproved, since my address was not typed into some box that it should have been (dispite the fact I had given my address, hence the pin verification letter). Google hadnt thought of letting me know about this and the status was showing 'waiting approval'.

Anyway, apparently it will now go active within the next 3 weeks so fingers crossed.

Just thought i'd share this, incase it comes in handy for anyone. Dunno what would have happened if I used the contact form instead of the phone, but I imagine a lot more waiting.
