Good news Roger.you will be back quicker than you think if you end up turning on the television during the day.....you will want to get back just to escape the mindless drivel on the tele!! ;)

Very pleased to hear that the operation was a success, sounds like you have been through the wars though so take it easy and don't rush back and i am sure you will make a speedy recovery  :)

All the very best

Managed a little walk today-some very nice comments from neighbours and shopkeepers who spotted me and were concerned for me. I think I look like an exaggerated version of John Wayne (drinking his milk) walking down the street after a long horse-back ride. ;D My wife thinks I look more like a penguin with a broken leg ;D ;D

Don't know when I shall be allowed to drive again.

Took me twice as long to walk to the shops (just over 100 yards) than pre operation. So although the paralysis is starting to wear off it takes a long time to do anything. Some of the shop keepers are very kind and said I could ring orders through and they would deliver them to us.

With my wife being disabled as well it is interesting observing myself loading a washing machine or cooking a meal for example, but we're getting there. As Churchill was quoted we "keep buggering on".

Luckily I can still type, so rather than watching day time tv, I am cracking on with a project I have wanted to do for a long time of making CD's (and transfering onto my iPod) many of my LPs and cassette tapes.

I could get addicted to not going out to cleaning carpets! :o

Cheers.

You seem to have found your typing fingers... does this mean grief from you all day long until you get back to work ??  :P :P

I wish you all the best mate - I had two shoulder replacement operations last year that have lost me a years income. Big operations, but not as daunting as yours. I`m sure that you will come bouncing back though,
Cheers,Chris

Glad to hear everything went well and that you are improving daily.
If there isn't enough time to do the job right,  how do we find the time to go back and do it again when the customer is not happy ?   Do it right the 1st Time.

just caught up with ciu to see your post and jeez what a worry for you mate and im glad i was late catching up on here coz looks like its happened and your on the mend.

well done mate and hey id sooner take small steps on the road to recovery rather than not have the chance to recover.

health first everything else second - least you got a bit of time to re-evaluate whats important and your current and future strategy.

all the best mark
