Managed a little walk today-some very nice comments from neighbours and shopkeepers who spotted me and were concerned for me. I think I look like an exaggerated version of John Wayne (drinking his milk) walking down the street after a long horse-back ride.

My wife thinks I look more like a penguin with a broken leg

Don't know when I shall be allowed to drive again.
Took me twice as long to walk to the shops (just over 100 yards) than pre operation. So although the paralysis is starting to wear off it takes a long time to do anything. Some of the shop keepers are very kind and said I could ring orders through and they would deliver them to us.
With my wife being disabled as well it is interesting observing myself loading a washing machine or cooking a meal for example, but we're getting there. As Churchill was quoted we "keep buggering on".
Luckily I can still type, so rather than watching day time tv, I am cracking on with a project I have wanted to do for a long time of making CD's (and transfering onto my iPod) many of my LPs and cassette tapes.
I could get addicted to not going out to cleaning carpets!

Cheers.
