do you need to run an ro every so often to keep the membrane healthy,  have been rainwater harvesting, and with all the rain, have'nt needed to use my ro very much lately was just wondering if it degrades if not run very often.

yes run it occasionally even if only for a very short time. It will stop stagnant bacteria growing in it and stop the membrane drying out which isn;t good for it.
