Im concerned that Im just being thick.
Im reading on here about the various types of brushes and I get the differences between flock and teh like. But where does the Sill brush fit into this.

Is it just a wider brush that will do Sill's and glass or is it a brush you specifically use on Sills then change brushes to a window brush to do the glass.

Or is it just another variant that some will swear by and some will swear at?

It's shaped to clean the glass and the cill without having to alter the angle adapter.

the sill brush is basically a semi circular brush.
This allows the brush to sit on the bottom edge of the glass and clean the sill at the same time,picture a L shape(glass and sill) and place a C in to it.....OR A HEDGEHOG
the other good point i find with sill brushes is you dont need to adjust the angle of the brush as much and an example would be  a normal window then going straight on to a velux window on an extension because of its semi circular shape you can still clean the velux with out any or much angle change
i would say get one and try for a week

so just using a Sill brush to do the lot would be fine..  Im assuming they are heavier..

For me starting out with my Harris pole and home made trolley it would be ideal ??

The Sill brush is not heavier at just 225g however it is slightly less wide than a standard Super-Lite brush.

However in my opinion the standard straight brushes clean faster and a DT Medium Mixed Super-Lite  brush is hard to beat on all round ability. Just not so good for Sills if they are important to you.

Whilst the DT medium Super-Lite would actually be better for the glass on the first clean (or a flocked) if you wanted to get the sills cleaned for the first clean then yes, the Sill version would do the trick for the initial visit.

Both equally as good SL standard you have more bristles on glass which is good but to bloody heavy for me

SL Extreme medium mixed great all rounder IMO, I could not use anything heavier as my little arms and body cant take the strain  . Mike

i have 2 gardiner sill brushes.soft and medium bristle.

medium one gets used for fascia/soffit/conservatory roof cleaning

soft one i have on my 40ft supermax for solar panel cleaning/higher jobs with leaded windows

i use a medium extreme for maintenance window cleaning.very light and does the job!

i have both the medium and flocked SL standard brushes which only get used on filthy first cleans as i class these as too heavy for regular work now due to being used to the extreme brushes!!

so i have 5 gardiner brushes.i also have a vikan mono which is on a very short pole for cleaning the van!!

the extreme brush is what i use for most work though which is regular maintenance window cleaning.
