Compared to last January, earning are up by 10% already and there is still a couple of days left of the month. I have only had 1 day when no work has not been done, so I am not moaning.

I look at this as % earned, rather than % of actual work done. In my case I have made around 62% of my mean target earnings, but this is due to, not only the inclement weather, but also the fact that in my locality many customers don't require my services in January, so it is a quiet month anyway.

We're already about £300 up on last January's total and if the weather is OK we will achieve about another £300 by the end of the month.
It's a game of three halves!

Lightweight! You missed the bit in green which in my role as Detective Sgt. Gold of the Grammar Police, I feel compelled to highlight. It should of course read "... there are a couple of days ...".

But of course Chief Petty Officer Wayai-Banzai Toshimoto of the Japanese Imperial Grammar Police got in first. And he was pipped to the post by Feldwebel Chris P. Bakon of zer Nazi grammar Police.

Absolutely shocking!

Crap weather, wages to pay, massive gas and electric bill landing on the door mat,

And most importantly,

No booze due to dry january!

Roll on Feb!

How do you treat these situations if its not workable ie with Wages

Ye my jan was bad too

Pretty bad January so far for me but not a disaster as such.

Plenty of work not done but that's probably has more to do with lack of enthusiasm and tons of rain/high winds/cold/snow this month mixed with a seemingly non stop raining and windy December after a raining and windy November after a raining and windy October, and so on back to April 2012.
Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

I had work 23rd and 24th Dec and in between Xmas and New Year which couldn't get done because of the weather. Then the begining of January was busy until Friday the 18th. I didn't work 18th to 25th inclusive; I worked a full day the 26th and then i've been off yesterday and today is a total washout. Luckily because of the cancelled work before Xmas, and Xmas day and Boxing Day I had a few spare days in January, but all those are used cos of the snow. I'm currently 25% down on expected takings, but might pull it back to 15% if tomorrow and Thursday are workable.

I am a window cleaner, not an English teacher, what do you expect.
Instead of learning punctuation and spellings, in the comfort of my home, I have been at work in this cold horrible month, we call January.

Correct, I am from Essex. Compared to your dull, dark and damp part of England, Essex is like living in a sunny, tropical climate.  ;D  ;D  ;D
