« on: January 16, 2013, 10:31:47 am »
Put an add on gumtree yesterday for a canvasser at £5 a lead had a couple of inquires already. Would like to know when would be the best time to pay them when they give me list of addresses or after i speak to custys? First time doing this so any other tips and advice would be great. Thanks in advance. Wayne

Hi Wayne its best to pay them when you cleaned them you may find yourself constantly motivating them as they won't be over the moon to go out to work I normally found , example is a decent person might go out and get say 10 leads out of those say 6 to be cleaned so you owe him £30 its not enough to keep someone interested or take it seriously , unless you are thinking of paying for a name and number that way it would make a difference as getting a lead who has an interest in using you at some stage isn't too hard but getting Immediate jobs is so paying them for just leads at a fiver will keep em going I guess even if Half of the customers use you that's still only £10 per clean if your average clean is more then £10 you can't go wrong play it by ear if you want them to work regularly if they can earn 50-70 quid a day that will keep em motivated

When I last employed a canvasser I would pay him at end of every week so this gave me time to get 1st clean and paid so no cost to me ... well hardly  :)

Thats the way...if everyone insists on paying canvassers £5 a customer or 50% of the value then it will wipe out the x2/x3 brigades out there.
Pay when you have been paid from the job mate. As canvassing is mix and match hours its best to get them to start the jobs for a saturday which means more chance customer will be in and also you can pay the canvassers straight after withought being owed lots of money first.

The way I'm doing it is offering %50 of the clean prIce to the guy Who is doing it for me . But I am showing him how to generate the leads for me as he's. Only 16 and my nephew .

Ja 50% or £5 for a first clean (stick or cancel) you defo can't go wrong the only problem you may find is people wont be motivated to do it properly ie do a week or 2 then disappear , as the money won't be great it won't be exciting for them to get out of bed knowing they could only get 5 leads a day and get about £25! This tactic will work how mick says find people who want a bit of extra money you will need a few to maintain Consistency it can be Annoying dealing with a new person once a week but like anything you put effort into it and it should be ok I know u do it well mick It just annoys me training people up then almost selling them the job only to Potentially have to do it again next week ;)

So I knocked it on the head I do get a good price from whizz so maybe that's why I'm happy using him now and then when I need stocking up rather then deal with randoms
