Didn't get it.

We really couldn't make it pay at any less.
Be interesting to see who actually got it and at what price but I doubt the info will be made public.

Sorry easy clean! I genuinely thought I had replied to everyone! 

I had over 20 companies provide prices and I needed to get the price sorted quickly, so the pressure was on. I did nothing but type away furiously on my ipad trying to reply to everyone and answer the questions that came flooding in. So I am genuinely sorry that you slipped through the net.

The deciding factors were the nearness of the company to the sites, their competitive price because they don't have far to travel along with their honesty in the conversations that we had and their willingness to learn.  They also have a degree of solar experience.

I am in no way implying anyone was not honest by the way. I found all of the companies who made contact to be very professional. Thank you Andy again for your interest.

That isn't the case at all and if I wanted ADVICE for I price, I would have asked for it. I know the price structure already and wanted prices, along with someone who fitted the criterion I needed and I found them.

You are right though that the price will not be made public.

You sure this was not a marketing ploy to get interest in a site? that's no where near national scale yet ? Just asking Steve as looked at the stats on your site and what would be looked at in this field, "traffic wise" would be interested to know otherwise and if I'm wrong. ?

are you sure this was not a marketing ploy to get interest in a site that's no where near nation scale yet ? Just asking Steve as looked at the states on your site and yhatvofbwhat would be looked at in this field, be interested to know otherwise as I got sucked in.

We didn't get a reply/answer or response either. I thought you were initially just looking for a price. That's what you asked for. So would I be correct in thinking that the crowd that got it sent you something more along the lines of a cv rather than just a price?

That's correct Ian. You are wrong. The job is real, the request for prices was real and the contractor we chose is indeed real.

What has been interesting to me though, is that I have quickly been able to deduce who on some of the forums is genuine and those who seem to be sceptics or perpetual criticisers.  I don't feel I have wasted anyone's time and I am sure that the contractor who, all things being equal, just got a contract for a few grand a year does not feel he has wasted his time either. 

Lots of people have registered their interest, which I have thanked them for. I hope that those who spoke to me in person could see that I was genuine, open and not wasting their time. There can only be one company that I could pick for this though. However, there will be more sites available in the future.

I am sorry you did not receive a response.  I am gonna look in my spam box at some point today because you are the second person who said they did not get a response, but I know how diligent I have been in replying to emails that hit my inbox. It was in my interests to respond to them all so that I could find the company that I needed.

I did ask for prices, some were wildly over the top. I asked some of these to reconsider their price if they wished and come back to me. Others sent reasonable prices and talks got a little further.

Thanks for the reply, im glad im wrong  Steve i was not criticising you, mearly asking a question, I guess I became a sceptic. I have never spoken with you before, although I did get an email to which I kept my promise, I just replied to that email.

I would never be so quick to jump to conclusions about someone and their motives or methods. After all this is just as much a business forum and I believe that I am representing my company at all times.
That's why I am always so impressed with Alex Gardiner and his measured responses, and I will continue to buy from GPS for this reason. I am also not impressed with some other forum members because of their responses and choose not to buy from their company.

I found it amazing the huge response I had to the thread. I had plenty of prices, over 25. There were also people with plenty of questions. These were mainly about pricing and marketing. I wrote a thread on here a couple of months ago about a solar panel training course. It was absolutely slammed. I am still making plans for it as I feel it is a source of information to benefit many.  Asking for the quotes has proved it to me.

Please, please, do not message implying that this was a ploy to merely to push the training course, as it most definitely was not. I know how some of you think!   If a course already existed, I'm sure that attenders would have been in a superior position to know what the contractor was looking for along with a sensible price structure that would suit all parties. Perhaps now some of the doubters may realise that a training course may be of benefit to them.

There again, perhaps I should not have mentioned a solar panel cleaning training  course again!
