You can buy them James, but I think you've got to have a salesman round so you can barter with him to get £500 off the asking price and so he can tell you that he just needs this one last sale so he can win a holiday - but he better check with his boss first as they dont normally offer this amount of discount.

Buy a good used one (G5 onwards) would be my advice.

Found an article from a guy with 45 years experience in them and he said the G6 is the best but they are all good only downside i can see is the weight and looks tricky to use a stair attachment with, using a Sebo BS36 at the moment pretty good better than any other i have used, but since i started carpet cleaning i am using a vacuum everyday so have noticed that even the Sebo has faults  bits do snap on it, the plastic part that holds the upper part in place has snapped on two of them they are good but the Kirby does look better.

For stairs and uph they are hard work but for rugs and carpets they are great.

James forget the guy with 45 years experience, i know carpet cleaners like that who are pooe. If you want the inside knowledge on the best kirby to buy (which i agree with, the Diamond) this is the only guy to listen to  ;)
