Shows the dysons in thier true light, do you still find customers who think the dyson is the best vacuum?

Good post Mike.
I have 2 Kirbys, one for carpet cleaning and
the older one for doing wife's car and the van.
Only thing that wasn't strapped down when I
left the van doors partially open whilst driving
off last week was the extension hose for it.
So I am now needing another extension hose.
Couldn't believe the extension hose on the older
model won't fit the newer model as it's smaller.

did not know you could get a Kirby for $299 but when you click on their web site reconditioned ones are about $700

Tester could not be considered to be unbiased

Wife swears her Vorwerk is better than my Sebo dart; have to say it’s more versatile excluding the carpet shake and vac. I do rate the valet 10 truvox old style

Dyson have always been poope. Sebo are ok and the kirby the best, how ever if you can pick up a Royal then you get the kirby power at a lower weight.

Ian if you read the article you will see the writer has quoted a life span of over 25yrs,

When  I sold  them we would contact people who ad purchased a  Kirby 5 yrs previously and offer to take it in art exchange on a new one, the part x machine would go straight out to the service engineers to be sold as a second machine to other Kirby owners. After 5yrs they needed nothing doing to them than a new belt & roller

They are a great machine.

There are loads on eBay and this article has prompted my to bid on one 10 miles from me

Belt on mine went other day, don't half make
a smell when they go.
Simples to fit new belt and roller is easy enough
to change.

I wouldn't use a Dyson even if they were any good. Nothing worse than using something a custy has. A few customers have had Kirby's, but because they paid such a lot for them and was sold their virtues it then becomes a positive.

I used to use sebos, but since buying a 2nd hand kirby off Steve Gunn are now convinced kirby are a better machine. The weight issue is outweighed by it robustness and perfomance. Was constantly having to change bits on sebo due to breakages, clog up more easily etc.
