Evening All,


As it says, got a Laura Bloomin Ashley Rug, 100% wool, it has textured (almost fluffy) patterns that have browned up. My fault, I felt the rug after blasting with drier for a while and it felt dry, but the patterned bit clearly held the water longer, thus browning! I'm going to have a bash with de-brown on Sunday, I have had browning problens a couple of time before (since 1988) but just wanted to see if you have any tips on this one. Thanks in advance

You could try a acidic rinse,or prochems fibre buff and oxibrite and shampoo.

could well be viscos, or silk mix a"ve, seen them be for tend to stay clear of them ,thats the worst with designer shops , look nice but not practical ,for daily use and cuase al kind of troble , was their a lable on the back ,!!!

Correct.....Viscose, buggered rug !

Care label was in Chinese apart from the 100% wool..............Yeah Right!!

As a rule I avoid all Laura Ashley stuff, for this very reason! But it said 100% wool

Luckily its in a half price sale, so I just ordered a replacement......phew!

If you can send the rug back and get a refund then call me and i will tell you how to reverse the browning on the damaged one.

If its got a label saying 100% wool and it isn't then I would certainly not be replacing it. Thats an offence under the sale of goods act. If its a customers of yours then I would have advised they take it up with the shop it was bought from.

I've had a few of those exact same ones by the sounds of it Justin.  As Paul says they are salvageable!

The last one, the customer tried a rug doctor on it and not only did it brown but the colour ran into the viscose parts.

Browning on any fibre, if developed over the following 24-48 hours after cleaning should be a doddle to fix, can't understand why you've had to fork out on a new one

I did try to correct with browning prescription, I have had success with this before, but not this time!
