wire brush the ones you have already and buy the same, brass tends to tarnish so a wire brush will reveal the numbers.

but the end digits need to add up to 6 so if you have a 2 jet wand then get 11003( the 110 refers to the angle of spray) 03 the size of orifice

how many jets does your wand have?

then you want your second link 1100-03

might be worth trying to find stainless steel.... they will last longer

110 015 will be fine, that's all I ever use with
my 2 jet and no problems.
These are what were recommended by my porty
supplier.

http://hydramaster.co.uk/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=109_111&products_id=742

015s gives half the flow of 03s .....so if using a portable you will need to fill your tank less often and if using an inline heater the water will be hotter as it passes slower through the exchanger.

the downside is less flushing action to clean the carpet

Mike

Does that mean less flow but more pressure?
I only use that size because that's what the porty
supplier said would be best in fact that's what they
fitted to my wand when I went to pick it up.

the pressure will be as per the pumps specification eg; 300psi @ 5lt min.

if the jets allow a greater flow than 5lts then something has to give to compensate, it all depends on the pump. Basic 100psi  shurflo/flojet pumps will probably use 15 jets, bigger pumptec, cat etc pumps will give better performance and be able to perform with a higher flow

If your jets pass, say, 1 lt/ min at 100 psi and your pump will supply 1.1 lt/min the pressure will stay up. The flow at the jet is roughly proportional to pressure.
If the jets pass 1.5 lt/min at 100 psi then the pressure will drop until the flow at the jets becomes 1 lt/min again, the pump then being able to keep up at that pressure.
A bit difficult to explain without the complicated maths involved- not that I could do that anyway!!
God must love stupid people---He made so many.

Pumptec 400psi pump.

Mike the pressure at the pump will remain the same.
Surely though the pressure at the wand will be higher
with smaller jets and start lowering as the jet size increases.
You'll gain flow but lose pressure.

there are lots of variables especially is you have an uploader fitted.

If you have a 400psi pump no matter how small your jets it cannot push higher than 400psi

if you have a 400psi pump with an uploader set at 200psi then while using the pump 200psi will always be returned back to the holding tank, you can lower the size of the jets but still it cannot go higher than 200psi, if the jets could increase psi then they still wouldn't as the uploader would bypass any thing higher that its set pressure.

then we have the optical illusion of a finer spray which looks more powerful than a higher flow but same pressure

as jet sizes increase with a powerful pump then they psi should stay the same as you are actually using the pump at its optimum, the smaller jets will do the opposite and restrict the performance

i better stop typing now as I'm even confusing my self :P :P
