Hi,just had a call 5 mins ago,lady wanting a 8x6 wool and silk rug cleaned before xmas.Do not usually work xmas eve,but job is only ten mins away so i said i would clean it monday morning,told her it would cost 100.00 euro,thats about 81.50 sterling,i think thats a more than a fair price,even cheap.She laughed,told me to go to hell,i kid you not.What are you guys charging for such a rug.

on xmas eve?, you could  double that and i still  wouldn't clean it. its xmas mate, chill out and unwind. 2 or 3 days work don't make a business, spend it with your family and cherish there company. worth more than any amount of money to clean a rug.

We'd normally charge min job value of £120, or £144 for off-site, but that wouldn't be in time for Xmas. Think I'd want to add a bit for short notice Xmas eve!

Depends where you are I suppose, but we don't lose a lot of min job quotes - can't give you the stat off the top of my head, but guessing 20 to 30%. "£20 of that is VAT." as we say...

Why dont you do it tomorrow? no need to work on Monday 

I would clean it on site for £50 plus vat - an hour of my time and easy money

Is that with the vat Max? - very good price if you can get it, like I said I would be happy with £50 plus the vat for an easy hours work - whats your sales pitch to win the job because you have only stated a difference of £24 for cleaning it off site - I double the price for off site myself
